Institutional Mill Work 2

The Town of Barker Court Clerks Office also was in need of upgrades to comply with New York State law. Working within the Town's budget, we used the existing jambs and hallway side trim while fabricating a new locking Dutch door with writing shelf and interior trim.

The original door was a flush one piece door that had to be left open allowing anyone to walk right in. The law requires the bottom portion of the door to be able to be locked preventing entry by unauthorized personnel, and the lock to be placed so as not to be easily reached.

The shelf extending beyond the lock handle makes it difficult for any one to reach over and unlock the door. This affords the Court Clerk a measure of safety.

5" custom pine colonial casing makes this a massive and formidable door.
